Water Reclamation Methods of Reuse Currently, water reclamation can be accomplished in one of two ways. The most common method is direct reuse, by which highly treated wastewater is used for irrigation and commercial or industrial purposes. Another method is indirect potable reuse, which augments limited potable water supplies through groundwater recharge and recovery for irrigation and augmentation of surface supplies. Direct potable reuse, which literally treats wastewater to drinking water standards for the purposes of direct potable reuse, is currently prohibited. |
